The Scottsville, KY location focuses on providing innovative and energy-efficient air handling solutions for the food service industry. Summary: The accounting assistant will provide accounting support to the Accounting Manager, Controller, and Finance Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for invoicing customers daily. Leads the process for setting up and approving new customers. Maintain customer files. Record cash collection from lockbox, wire transfers, and checks mailed directly to Halton Company. Processes and record credit card payments from customers. Complete credit requests or inquiries from customers. Prepare and submit monthly customer statements. Closely monitor aging report to maintain cash flow and ensure accounts remain in good standing. Ensure discrepancies in customer balances are investigated and resolved. Maintain company established benchmark of 3% or less for Receivables Over 90 days. Function as a backup to other accounting personnel in their absence. Complete intercompany transactions verification and reporting. Assist the Controller and the Finance Director with month-end and year-end close procedures. Other tasks may be assigned as deemed necessary to support quality goals and objectives. Associate's degree will be considered if experienced. 12-year minimum experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and other MS office applications is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Navision and Oracle NetSuite preferred but not required. Problem solving, data analysis, research. Other Skills: Ability to read and speak English. Possess both written and oral communication skills appropriate to a workplace environment. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas and communicate effectively with management, colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Other Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands: Regularly use hands and fingers to handle and feel. Regularly stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly Talk and hear. Maintain awareness. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10lbs. Maintain vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.
