Production Control Specialist Job Category: Operations Requisition Number: PRODU001387 Location: Hampshire, IL 60140, USA Description Duties and Responsibilities: Generate/monitor work orders based on sales order due dates, production lead times, and capacity. Generate/monitor production orders and schedule the Slitter unit for efficient production runs. Apply inventory to orders in a manner that limits additional remnant inventory, utilizes aging inventory, and maximizes inventory turns. Works cooperatively with Supply Chain to achieve the collective goals of attaining 90% on-time delivery performance, managing the board directives for inventory levels, and meeting or exceeding customer and industry-mandated quality products. Works cooperatively with the Production team to understand and communicate plant goals and objectives, acting as a liaison between the production floor and the sales desk. Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct various reporting and data analyses related to supply, demand, and inventory levels to inform decision-making. Decision Making: Make informed make or no-make decisions by evaluating demand, supply lead times, and inventory allocation options. Inventory Management: Resolve out-of-stock situations, analyze discrepancies in inventory data, and recommend and implement improvements to inventory control systems. Inventory Evaluation: Determine, evaluate, and redeploy obsolete and excessive inventory, collaborating with sales and operational leaders to arrange promotional sales for excess or slow-moving stock. Performance Analysis: Calculate and publish reports on slow-moving and obsolete supplies, driving initiatives for reduction and optimization. Qualifications: Must be comfortable learning legacy terminal systems Demonstrates an aptitude for data analysis with high proficiency in Excel and Access preferred Requires collaborative and team-oriented with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to operate in a complex, matrixed environment. Requires strong leadership and partnership skills. Power-BI Report is strongly preferred. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Digital literacy and systems knowledge required. 5 or more years of Production Control (or comparable) experience. Equal Opportunity Employer.
