IT Trainer, Tier 1

Information Technology Trainer ESD's Information Technology Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on training for various software applications, Information Systems and hardware resources utilized within the organization. This includes Microsoft (MS) Operating Systems, MS O365, Omnissa Horizon VDI, MS Dynamics, MS SharePoint, Zoom, Google Workspace, Google Gemini, ChatGPT, Keeper, Monday.com, Smart Draw, as well as many other applications or equipment used within ESD. The IT trainer is responsible for creating, scheduling, and delivering group workshops, webinars, and one-on-one sessions, both virtually and in person, to support user engagement and skill development for ESD resources. Work performed includes: Design and deliver IT training programs for diverse audiences. Develop and maintain up-to-date instructional materials (manuals, tutorials, FAQs). Set up training environments, including necessary equipment and software. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users. Collaborate with IT staff and subject matter experts to validate, refine, and enhance content. Align training with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry trends. Serve as liaison among end users, leadership, and IT teams. Represent the voice of the user by collecting and communicating user feedback. Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust approaches as needed. Identify and assist in troubleshooting user-defined problems. Ensure the work is completed within the guidelines set by IT policies. Assist with ESD Disaster Recovery efforts, testing and documentation. Perform other related duties and projects as directed by IT Management. Position expected to work onsite and/or remote consistent with NYS and ESD guidelines and needs.
