DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS This position involves county-wide responsibility for supervisory and operational oversight of a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental team of staff designed to provide comprehensive and coordinated services to victims of family violence. The FJC co-locates nonprofit and government agencies and their services in a safe and collaborative environment. The Director provides direct supervision and oversight of FJC daily operations to ensure the delivery of services and compliance with program policies/regulations consistent with the FJC's strategic plan and overall FJC Business Plan, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed services. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation, administration and management of the FJC model and all related programming and services including development and implementation of organizational procedures and guidelines, marketing materials and other program education and promotional programs, grant writing, and management of the flow of victims and victim advocacy through the services offered by the FJC. The Director works with internal and external partners and stakeholders, including facilitation and coordination of related boards, work groups, and committees to ensure necessary collaboration between all service providers. Examples of DutiesDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and Tasks • Oversees administration and human resource management. • Oversees program/service development and delivery. • Plans, leads and oversees community outreach and county-wide communication strategies. • Oversees budget and financial management and legal compliance. • Oversees grant writing and grant management. • Maintains internal and external partnerships and strategic relationships. • Oversees the FJC communications plan, including the FJC website and information sharing across partner agencies. • Oversees compliance with HIPAA and other federal regulations. • Influences community attitudes and practices by advocating for education and community change. • Coordinates the FJC Strategic planning process and alignment with Guilford County strategic planning activities. • Manages, develops and submits budget recommendations for the FJC. • Develops and coordinates resources, policies, and procedures to achieve and maintain countywide service delivery. • Provides both formal and informal supervision to various Guilford County employees that are located or co-located at the FJC, including partner departments and community-based agency partners. • Carefully reviews programs/assignments to ensure compliance with standards/regulations; makes adjustments or reassigns staff based on mandates/priorities. • Develops programs and resources to enhance service delivery and ensure no duplication of services. • Ensures that all activities carried out in the name of the FJC are in accordance with the center's mission, vision, goals, objectives, policies and procedures and follows trauma-informed, evidence-based practices. • Maintains professional competency by participating in continued education and personal growth experiences to continually lead the center in a positive direction. RECRUITMENT STANDARDS Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Considerable knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques, practices, and their application to specific casework, community problems, and family violence. Considerable knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies, which govern family violence responses. Considerable skills in supervision, management and leadership Ability to adopt and implement best practices from Family Justice Centers currently operated by various jurisdictions within the U.S. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely. Ability to plan and execute work effectively. Ability to apply practices designed to promote safety within families Ability to develop and sustain collaborations with other entities within the FJC, as well as various community partners Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be receptive to new ideas and have skills in facilitating meetings and managing diverse opinions and perspectives. Ability to have good working relationships with staff and other partners and to promote teamwork among all involved parties within the Family Justice Center and the broader community. Ability to work with individuals and families with lived experience to improve and refine the operations, policies, and procedures of the Family Justice Center. Typical QualificationsMinimum Qualifications Master's degree in social work, counseling, public administration, public health, or a closely related human services field and at least three years of progressively responsible experience in social services, family violence response, public health, or government programs, including a minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience. OR Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, public administration, public health, or a closely related field and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in social services, family advocacy, public health, or government programs, including a minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading cross-system collaboration, grant administration, or multi-agency partnerships Supplemental InformationPhysical Demands An employee in this position must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of walking, fingering, standing, reaching. The employee must be able to perform sedentary work. Working Conditions Work consists of office environment. No adverse environmental conditions. May Require Driving This position may require driving for this position whether driving a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business such as but not limited to attending conferences, meetings, or any other county related functions. Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver's license and that the driving record is compatible with the county's driving criteria.
