The Senior Manager, Credit Risk leads the analytics and strategies of CarMax Auto Finance’s (CAF) portfolio of originations, including voluntary protection products, originations and portfolio management functions. This person manages a team of Analysts responsible for design, development, implementation, and validation of credit underwriting, pricing, loss forecasting and/or consumer activities in order to manage the risk of consumer receivables and the impact to CAF’s profitability and consumer value.You will spend your time Lead analyses in multiple areas of the business including credit underwriting, partners, products, pricing, and forecasting Actively participate in the recruiting process to identify and select analytical resources to staff the team to meet the needs of the business. Effectively manage, develop and engage that team of Analysts Set the direction and objectives for the department including review and analysis of existing business strategies, as well as recommend and implement new strategies as appropriate Design and ensure appropriate utilization of monitoring and tracking to measure and quantify the effectiveness of strategies or tests, including associate performance. Develop economic and portfolio forecasts for market share, portfolio management, budgeting, and planning. Produce and present reports, analysis and recommendations for monthly business and portfolio performance evaluation and outcomes. What you will need to succeedThe Senior Manager, Credit Risk is responsible for providing the leadership and analytical support for the effective management and growth of CAF’s portfolio of originations. The Senior Manager must develop and maintain an understanding of volume and credit mix of originations, pricing strategies, securitization implications, and portfolio performance forecasting. Analytics team management is essential to understanding business impacts, loss forecasting estimates, profitability drivers, and impact to products and partners. Leadership of a highly talented, diverse and engaged team is essential.To be eligible Degree in an analytical or business field and 5+ years of experience in an analytical or strategic role with experience managing an analytical team. Advanced degree is preferred. Proven track record in selecting, motivating, developing and evaluating exempt level associates, analysts, and senior analysts. Ability to explain complex concepts and communicate business insights to the team, other managers, with similar and different business backgrounds, and Senior Executives alike. Proven track record of conceptual thinking and strong analytical ability used to design and manipulate complex mathematical models for explaining and predicting business metrics and ability to teach others to do so. Ability to influence business decisions and convert high-level business objectives into concrete analysis tasks and lead teams to execute systematically. Work Location and Arrangement : This role will be based out of the CarMax Auto Finance office (Kennesaw, GA) and associates will work onsite 5 days per week.Work Authorization : Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
