Purchasing Buyer III The Purchasing Buyer II will be responsible for ensuring the purchase of goods and services at the most favorable terms for the LISI Aerospace organization. All buyer III's within the organization are expected to perform the essential duties with minimal supervision and integrity. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies in support of production needs per the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) or requisition system and recommends stock reorder points Evaluates vendor quotes and services by means of spend analysis and market analysis to determine most desirable quote Responsible for annual cost savings goals and management through realization on the P&L Validates purchase order confirmation Establishes and maintains effective relationships with suppliers Resolves issues with rejections, certifications, delivery commitments (OTD), invoice discrepancies and other documentation problems Expedites delivery of critical items as required Evaluates suppliers on the basis of competitive advantage and supplier metrics Creates strategic objectives for supplier management with support from Management. Occasionally, the incumbent will be asked and expected to perform various, miscellaneous, and non-standard duties as required. Such duties are diversified in nature and may be changed from time to time to suit the needs of the company. Technical skills in Quality Assurance and manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and inspection equipment; good understanding of Geometric tolerance per ANSI Y145; proficient in the use of Calipers, Micrometers, Height gages, ring gages, pin gages, go and no-go pin gages, optical comparator and microscopes; reads and understands blueprints Oral and written communication - speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens intently to others and seeks clarification; provides clear and pleasant responses to inquiries regardless of the situation; demonstrates group presentation skills; participates in meetings. Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no supervisory duties. Essential job requirements skills and abilities include: Bachelor's degree (BA/S) in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration. Minimum 8+ years related experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or a technical position in a high-volume manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) preferred. Experience supporting production control, inventory, quality, and shipping and receiving functions. Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP/MRP messages and how to respond. Computer skills include: Basic mainframe computer systems and familiar with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software; database systems. Mathematical skills include: Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning ability includes: Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
