Senior Estimator The Senior Estimator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all estimating functions for area office operations. This role involves the management of an Estimating Team and requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a similar field. The focus will be on commercial construction projects, including healthcare and higher education. Responsibilities Lead self-performed, hard bid, negotiated, and conceptual estimating team. Manage the entire bid process, including subcontractor solicitation, bid document management, and evaluation of subcontractor proposals/bids. Oversee the post-bid process through post-bid reviews, verifying scope of work and pricing within established parameters. Review and assist in the preparation and culmination of project estimates and bids. Assign work to subordinates, direct and review their assignments, and ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates prepared by subordinates. Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required. Support project and construction management team during pre-design and construction planning, project execution, and upon completion. Meet with client management, staff, and supervisory personnel to introduce services, expertise, and capabilities of the company. Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data, current trends, and construction procedures and methods to maintain up-to-date estimating standards and databases. Build relationships with local architects, engineers, and subcontractors to serve as a resource and stay informed of upcoming projects. Notify management group of upcoming projects' status and approximate timing for company proposal and bid submittals. Assist in the development of area marketing plans and goals, and in developing strategies for management client contacts regarding procurement of work, estimating services, contract negotiation, and future work potential. Essential Skills Proficiency in estimation and commercial construction. Experience with Procore software. Experience in preconstruction, self-perform, hard bid, RFP, and RFQ processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a similar field. Experience in commercial construction projects such as healthcare and higher education. Work Environment The work environment includes a team of six people, expanding to seven with this role. The team consists of a Preconstruction Manager, Estimating Manager, Senior Estimator, Junior Estimator, and a Preconstruction Coordinator. Standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, in-office five days a week. Flexibility may be offered after one year. Benefits include 21 days of PTO, 7 paid holidays with 2 floating holidays, and flex time allowing up to 4 hours off on a Friday if 40 hours are completed. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Austin, TX.
