Job Details Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) / Emergency Department Nurse Location: Fairfield, IA 52556 (Fairfield, Iowa) Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel RN Start Date: March 16, 2026 End Date: June 15, 2026 Shift: Monday and Tuesday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour nights) Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours per week Duration: 13 weeks Work Type: On-site (in-person ER nursing position) Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130 - $2250 per week Job Requirements / Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa required Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) At least 1 year of Emergency Room / Emergency Department nursing experience preferred (triage, trauma, fast-paced ED experience) Up-to-date immunizations and health clearance per facility policy (MMR, Varicella, Polio, Hepatitis B, TDaP, Flu, TB screening, physical, drug screen, respiratory fit test) Background checks and mandatory reporter certificates (Child & Dependent Adult Abuse) required Completion of required facility education modules prior to start Key Responsibilities Provide total patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Perform triage, rapid assessment, and stabilization for urgent and emergent patients, including resuscitation and trauma interventions Administer medications, wound care, and treatments as ordered; monitor and document patient responses Educate and guide patients and families on procedures, follow-up care, and discharge planning Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the ED Supervise and support ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards and accurate clinical documentation Adhere to hospital policies, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols Experience the rewarding challenge of emergency nursing in a community that values your skills and dedication.
