Mall Maintenance Technician

This role ensures a safe, clean, and fully functional environment for tenants, customers, and staff. The technician performs preventative maintenance, responds to repair requests, and supports daily facility operations. Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance:Perform routine inspections of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems. Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule. Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and building components. Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, flooring, fixtures, and hardware as needed. Maintain common areas, restrooms, food court areas, and exterior grounds. Electrical & Mechanical:Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues (outlets, breakers, lighting systems). Assist with HVAC system monitoring and minor repairs. Maintain (in coordination with contracted vendors) automatic doors. Monitor fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with local safety codes and regulations. Conduct safety inspections and report hazards. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations. Maintain proper documentation of repairs and inspections. Tenant & Customer Support:Respond to tenant service requests in a timely manner. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when necessary. Maintain professional communication with tenants and mall management. Grounds & Exterior Maintenance:Assist with parking lot upkeep and exterior lighting. Support seasonal tasks (e.g., snow removal, storm preparation). Ensure waste disposal areas are clean and properly maintained. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Must be at least 18 years of age or older Must have a valid Driver's License Technical certification in electrical, HVAC, or related field preferred. 2+ years of maintenance experience in commercial or retail facilities preferred. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems. Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
