Logistics Coordinator

Logistics Coordinator LaSalle Network is hiring on behalf of a food manufacturing company looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their Supply Chain team. This individual will play a critical role in coordinating transportation operations, ensuring on-time delivery performance and driving cost-effective logistics solutions. Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities Coordinate day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring customer and intra-company shipments are created, tracked and delivered on time. Tender customer shipments, warehouse replenishment orders and inbound material purchases to carriers in alignment with approved routing guides while maximizing trailer utilization and managing freight costs. Partner with warehouse operations and carriers to schedule appointments, prioritizing inbound receipts and outbound shipments to optimize customer order fulfillment. Monitor and manage freight spend to maintain cost efficiency and budget adherence. Measure and track On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance for assigned regions or customers and take proactive action to resolve service gaps. Utilize logistics software tools including SAP and BluJay TMS (Transportation Planning Tool, Freight Builder, Dispatch Console, Rate Inquiry and reporting tools) to optimize transportation processes. Audit and process carrier accessorial charges in accordance with company policy. Collaborate with Transportation Analytics, Freight Compliance, carriers and receivers to resolve claims and service-related issues. Monitor daily shipment activity and communicate delays or service interruptions to stakeholders. Provide after-hours, holiday and weekend support coverage as needed. Build and maintain strong working relationships with carriers, warehouse partners, Customer Service and Deployment teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, efficiency and cost performance. Logistics Coordinator Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field required. Prior experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation or warehouse operations. Strong technical proficiency including SAP, BluJay TMS and Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization. Detail-oriented, results-driven and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence. This is a hybrid position (3 days/week in office) based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL and reports to the Manager of Transportation. This is a contract-to-hire position. The pay range is between $30-$32 per hour and the role offers medical, dental and vision insurance.
