Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)The Operating Room RN is a highly skilled and detail-oriented nursing professional responsible for providing safe and efficient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requires strong critical thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The OR RN collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery.Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients· Conduct preoperative assessments, including verifying patient identity, surgical site, and consent· Prepare the operating room by ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready· Assist with positioning, prepping, and draping patients for surgery· Maintain strict adherence to aseptic and infection control techniques· Monitor patient status intraoperatively, including vital signs and anesthesia response· Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies promptly· Document all intraoperative care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)· Provide postoperative care, including monitoring recovery and managing pain· Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and discharge instructions· Respond promptly to emergencies such as bleeding, cardiac arrest, or anesthesia complications· Advocate for patient safety and uphold confidentiality and HIPAA standardsMinimum Requirements· Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice· Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; OR experience strongly preferred· Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)· Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)· TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)· Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations· Successful completion of new hire orientation and OR-specific training· Strong communication skills and proficiency in English· Basic computer literacy· Must be at least 18 years of ageBenefits· Competitive pay & weekly paychecks· Health, dental, vision, and life insurance· 401(k) savings plan· Awards and recognition programsInterested in learning more about pay rates?
