The Fleet Coordinator supports field operations by promoting and maintaining an organized, efficient, and auditable approach to equipment and fleet inventory management. This role is responsible for coordinating equipment availability across multiple projects and operating groups, ensuring assets are properly tracked, classified, and allocated to support operational demands while maximizing utilization and cost efficiency. The Fleet Coordinator develops and implements standardized methodologies for tracking equipment, establishing minimum inventory thresholds, and preventing shortages or operational delays. This position coordinates equipment mobilization and demobilization, oversees procurement and transportation activities, and interfaces with vendors to ensure compliance with delivery schedules, pricing, and contractual requirements. Responsibilities Promote and maintain an organized, efficient, and auditable approach to equipment inventory management. Develop and implement standardized methodologies for tracking equipment and establishing minimum inventory thresholds to prevent shortages or operational delays. Coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization while monitoring utilization to maximize availability and cost efficiency within the assigned area of responsibility. Procure, allocate, and transport equipment to support multiple projects and operating groups across various geographic locations. Interface with vendors to ensure compliance with established delivery schedules, pricing, and contractual terms and conditions. Verify proper equipment classification, rates, and cost allocations in accordance with internal controls and project requirements. Lead by example by identifying, recommending, and implementing process improvements; promote best practices and document measurable results. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Fleet, Procurement, and Finance teams to support project execution. Perform other duties as assigned in support of operational and organizational objectives. Qualifications Prior experience in equipment procurement, fleet coordination, or materials management within a utility construction environment is strongly preferred. Experience working in or supporting unionized construction operations is preferred. Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and 35 years of relevant industry experience preferred. Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations applicable to construction and transportation activities is a plus. Proficiency with MS Office applications; experience with Power BI or similar reporting and data visualization tools preferred. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 2550 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to access construction sites, equipment yards, warehouses, and vendor locations, which may include uneven terrain, stairs, and outdoor environments. Ability to travel periodically, including overnight travel, to support operations across multiple geographic regions. Ability to work in an office environment as well as field settings, including exposure to varying weather conditions and construction-related noise. Must be able to comply with all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
