Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVOR Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel WCS Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a contract assignment at a highly respected hospital in New Haven, CT. Job Function: Day Shift. 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., and 10:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m. Document all patient care accurately, completely, and promptly in the facility EMR. Prepare the operating room for procedures and assist with room turnover. Assist with patient positioning and ensure comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Handle and label specimens according to policy. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection‑control standards. Identify and initiate corrective actions when necessary. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure efficient workflow. Job Requirements: 2 years CVOR experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I or travel experience) Must be able to scrub and circulate cardiac surgery independently Experience with procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, thoracotomy, VATS, ECMO, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, aortic aneurysm repair, etc. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EPIC charting experience preferred. 1 reference required.
