Security Position You will issue temporary (escort/no escort) badges to civilian visitors, contractors, vendors, and foreign nationals. You will access databases for proper authorization of visit requests, identify the individual to properly badge, and maintain required logs. You will perform security patrols in accordance with security shift standing order requirements either by foot, or vehicle during assigned shifts. You will monitor situations for public safety and health and report violations to proper authorities. You will be responsible for the security, upkeep and operator maintenance of assigned government vehicles, issued uniform items, assigned post material and/or equipment. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. This is a bargaining unit position. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. May be required to obtain Occupational Health Certifications in Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Health Physicist (CHP), or similar certification. You will be required to obtain and maintain current First Responder, First Aid, AED and CPR certifications in order to support medical emergencies. You will be required to wear a uniform. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position requires exposure to high noise levels.
