Come grow your career with us and be a part of something bigger.As an experienced Walk Behind Saw Operator, after paid training, you will put your skills to work - safety operating equipment to move earth, tools and materials to and from job sites. We believe in the power of teamwork, and all crew members are expected to assist with general labor as needed.What You'll Do• Manage and direct helper in the layout and cutting of all types of concrete flatwork• Verify that the measurements of the cuts are correct and match the work order• Read and understand customer’s concrete cut control manuals• Place door hangers and resolve minor issues with customers/ residents in a timely manner• Use proper size blade for the thickness of concrete• Vacuum slurry from all cuts• Place barricades and signs on job site in pre-marked locations• Return barricades to back of curb when saw cutting is complete• Load and unload equipment and materials• Motivate others to achieve productivity, quality, and safety goals• Complete cut sheets and enter saw crew time daily• Communicate with supervisors daily• Train others in proper procedures and specifications• Conduct weekly Tool Box Safety discussions with the assigned crew• Other duties as requested by leadershipWhat You'll Have• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred• Minimum of 3 years experience in sawing sidewalk, curb and gutter, street paving, handicap ramps and storm drain inlets• Experience operating both a walk behind and quickie concrete saw• Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first• Ability to maintain awareness working within a traffic control zone• Knowledge of underground utilities and locator markings• Ability to interact with public, supervisors, and coworkers professionally at all times• Ability to think clearly no matter the stress or difficulty of your circumstances.• Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellenceWhat You'll Get Join the Largest Natural Gas Distribution Contractor in the United States Weekly Payroll Paid, on-the-job training: natural gas distribution, utility excavation, safety Work Environment Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner Legal Stuff Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card Join and maintain Union membership Diversity, Equity & Inclusion CommitmentThis job description is subject to change at any time.
