Project Controls Analyst The Project Controls Analyst supports the financial performance and execution discipline of long-term projects by managing cost, schedule, and forecast controls across complex, fast-paced, fixed-price and hybrid contracts. This role partners closely with Project Management and Finance to protect margin, surface risks early, and support commercial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Cost & Margin Control Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete analyses Track actual costs vs. budget and identify margin erosion risks early Support earned value analysis and progress measurement including monthly WIP adjustments at project level Monitor labor productivity, subcontractor performance, and material cost trends Contract & Commercial Management Support administration of contracts set-up and ongoing maintenance Track change orders, scope growth, claims, and commercial recoveries Monitor risk transfer, liquidated damages exposure, and contingency usage Bonding, Insurance & Permitting Compliance Coordinate project-level payment and performance bond issuance, including support for underwriting data, bond values, and contract alignment Track bond requirements, renewals, and releases in accordance with contract terms and project milestones Coordinate issuance and maintenance of Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for owners, lenders, and subcontractors, ensuring coverage limits and endorsements meet contract requirements Track and support procurement of state, county, and city permits, licenses, and approvals required for project execution Maintain compliance tracking for regulatory and contractual requirements tied to bonding, insurance, and permitting Forecasting & Executive Reporting Prepare monthly forecasts, cash flow projections, and margin outlooks Develop clear, concise reporting for senior management and project leadership Provide scenario analysis for schedule changes, cost overruns, and recovery plans Schedule & Performance Integration Coordinate cost and schedule data to support integrated project controls Identify early warning indicators related to schedule slippage and productivity loss Support mitigation planning with Project Managers and leadership Work Environment Office setting Collaborative, engaging and success driven culture Minimal travel required Physical Demands Sitting for prolonged periods of time Repetitive typing/data entry Lifting up to 10 pounds Work Schedule This position is an on-site position. General office hours are M-F, 7a-4p or 8a-5p. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Procurement, and Accounting Support project reviews, audits, and internal risk committees Contribute to continuous improvement of project controls tools and processes Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment Detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through Excellent MS Office skills Education, Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 37+ years of experience in project controls, cost control, or project financial management Direct experience supporting design-build projects Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; ERP and project systems experience preferred Solid understanding of cost forecasting, earned value, and margin management Fixed-price or lump-sum Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts Exposure to claims, change management, and commercial negotiations Experience in energy, industrial, infrastructure, or large commercial projects, with baggage handling and material handling a plus Familiarity with mid-tier ERP systems such Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct, or similar
