Medical Administrative Assistant (Full Time) Clinic Job Category: Clinic Requisition Number: MEDIC003466 Posted: June 23, 2025 Full-Time On-site Enola, PA 17025, USA Job Details Description Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday Qualifications and Education: Education: A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred; graduate of an accredited business school or college in the medical administrative discipline preferred. Qualifications: A minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative role in an EMR environment preferred, preferably in orthopaedics, with Provider interaction. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical secretary in an EMR environment required, preferably in orthopaedics. Must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, vendors and others. Must have excellent computer skills and proficiency with Windows based programs required. Must be organized and be able to prioritize tasks and functions efficiently. Must possess a solid knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and basic coding knowledge; orthopaedic terminology/coding preferred. Must type accurately. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Functions as a member of the respective physician(s) team. Acts as source of contact for ER consultations, patient calls, physical therapists, PCPs, employers, WC rehabilitation nurses, etc. Secures necessary direction and information from clinical staff to appropriately act and/or follow-through on clinical type calls. Maintains physician schedule: Processes Provider schedule changes/time off requests. Coordinates call schedule with provider's calendar. Schedules meetings and/or depositions and organizes chart for meeting for physician(s). Processes Provider's mail: process patient requested forms as necessary Processes faxed documents. Handles travel arrangements and itineraries as requested. Verifies OR start times Handles prepayments and billing for meetings and depositions. Retrieves labs and diagnostic results for patient visits as necessary Contacts physicians regarding ER/inpatient consults and process for billing. Composes letters. Schedules patient appointments Completes to-do list and process patient portal messages. Monitors missed dictations by Provider. Provides coverage for other administrative assistants as needed. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. Language Skills: Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors and the general public. Physical Demands: Periods of prolonged sitting. Light physical effort; some standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping; manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment; detail oriented; able to maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor under all circumstances.
