We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.The Digital Operations Intern will support Xylem's Digital Command Center (DCC) and Services Support teams by helping monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of connected customer sites using the Link2Site® platform. This role is designed for an engineering student who is interested in real-world digital operations and IoT-enabled services.The intern will work closely with Digital Operations Engineers, Product Engineering teams, and international DCC teams to identify site-level issues, support device updates, and contribute to operational improvement projects. A significant focus of this internship will be on initiatives to reduce device communication challenges, improve operational processes, and support more accurate capacity calculations for tank exchange.This role provides hands-on exposure to how digital platforms, connected devices, analytics, and operations come together to support customers at scale.Key ResponsibilitiesDigital Command Center & Link2Site Support Monitor connected customer sites using the Link2Site® platform to identify alarms, data quality issues, and operational anomalies. Investigate and help resolve common site-level issues, escalating more complex problems to engineering or operations teams as appropriate. Document findings, root causes, and resolutions to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. Device & Engineering Collaboration Work with product and engineering teams to support device configuration changes, firmware updates, and validation activities. Help track and communicate device-related issues and resolutions across teams. Operational Projects & Process Improvement Support DCC Operations Engineers on active projects related to: Improving communication between DCC, service teams, and engineering Standardizing operational workflows Reducing recurring site issues Collaborate with international DCC teams to identify process gaps and propose improvement. Help develop or refine operational documentation, dashboards, or KPIs where needed. Services Support Assist with projects focused on improving capacity calculations and tank exchange logic for connected sites. Support service professionals while working with digitally connected systems. Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand technical systems and translate findings into clear, actionable insights. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Interest in digital operations, IoT, connected devices, or industrial software platforms. Comfortable working with data, dashboards, and digital tools. Familiarity with concepts such as telemetry, alarms, data quality, or system monitoring. Experience with tools such as Power BI, Excel, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools. Experience working in team-based or cross-functional project environments.
