Current lifeguard certification, first aid, professional CPR/AED certification are required. Thorough knowledge of application of lifeguarding, surveillance and rescue techniques. An understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies and procedures. Leadership, public relations and decision-making skills are essential. Pre-employment testing of life-guarding skills and knowledge are required. Other responsibilities include: Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies.
