The Clinical Equipment Technician is responsible for the safe delivery, installation, instruction, and retrieval of home medical equipment and supplies. This includes respiratory devices (e.g., oxygen concentrators, CPAPs, BiPAPs), hospital beds, wheelchairs, and other durable medical equipment (DME). The technician ensures all equipment is clean, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards while providing high-quality service and education to patients and caregivers. Equipment Delivery & Setup Deliver and set up medical equipment in patient homes, hospitals, and long-term care facilities Educate patients and caregivers on proper equipment usage, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures Ensure equipment is functioning properly and document all setups according to company policy Participate in on-call rotations to meet urgent patient delivery needs Cleaning, Disinfection & Preparation Clean and disinfect returned equipment per infection control policies and manufacturer guidelines Inspect and test equipment to ensure functionality and safety before returning to inventory Document all cleaning, disinfection, and quality checks in appropriate compliance logs Maintain a clean and organized staging and cleaning area in the warehouse Equipment Maintenance & Retrieval Retrieve equipment when it is no longer in use and follow decontamination protocols Perform minor repairs and routine preventative maintenance on equipment Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, servicing, and inspections Compliance & Documentation Ensure all deliveries, pickups, and services comply with Medicare, Medicaid, and accreditation standards Accurately document deliveries, patient signatures, and equipment conditions Adhere to all infection control procedures and regulatory requirements Customer Service Deliver exceptional customer service with empathy and professionalism Respond to patient inquiries and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed Communicate delivery timelines and updates clearly to patients and caregivers The above statements are intended to represent key responsibilities and duties of the position. RequirementsPrior experience in healthcare or home medical equipment preferred High school diploma or equivalent Must possess a valid Driver's License and automobile insurance Ability to lift and maneuver heavy medical equipment Frequent standing, bending, driving, and carrying of large equipment Ability to stand for extended periods of time
