About the Role: The Customs Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all import and export activities comply with applicable customs laws, regulations, and company policies. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining customs compliance programs to mitigate risks and avoid penalties. The manager will lead audits, coordinate with customs brokers and government agencies, and provide guidance to internal teams on customs-related matters. They will also analyze changes in trade regulations and adapt company procedures accordingly to maintain seamless global operations. Ultimately, this position ensures that the organization's international trade processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with strategic business objectives. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs compliance or international trade management. Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade compliance standards. Experience working with customs brokers and government regulatory agencies. Proficiency in preparing and reviewing customs documentation and compliance reports. Experience working with Free Trade Zone (FTZ) issues Expertise in Excel Bilingual in Korean Preferred Qualifications: Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) designation. Experience with global trade management software and customs compliance tools for FTZ Familiarity with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and preferential trade programs. Advanced knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, and duty drawback processes. Experience in a multinational corporation or complex supply chain environment. Responsibilities: Develop and oversee customs compliance programs to ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations in FTZ and Non FTZ. Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth import/export operations. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential compliance issues. Investigate and resolve customs-related issues, including disputes, penalties, and delays. Monitor changes in international trade laws and update company policies and procedures accordingly. Prepare and submit required customs documentation and reports accurately and on time. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including logistics, legal, and finance to ensure compliance and optimize trade processes. Skills: The Customs Compliance Manager uses their expertise in customs regulations and international trade laws daily to ensure that all shipments comply with legal requirements, minimizing risk and avoiding costly penalties. Strong analytical skills are applied to conduct audits and interpret complex regulatory changes, enabling proactive adjustments to company policies. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with customs officials, brokers, and internal teams to resolve issues and provide clear guidance. Leadership and training abilities are utilized to educate staff on compliance best practices, fostering a culture of adherence and awareness. Additionally, proficiency with trade management software and documentation tools streamlines compliance processes and enhances operational efficiency.
