Position Summary: Responsible for leading a team of developers in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure web-based applications and systems. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic leadership - serving as both a hands-on architect and a solutions consultant to the business. This Hybrid Tech Lead/Engineering Manager is approximately 25% hands-on coding and 75% leadership, architecture, and delivery management. Beyond execution, the ideal candidate is a true driver of the business - acting as a thought partner to leadership, taking deep ownership of outcomes, and proactively identifying opportunities to move the organization forward. They bring initiative, shape strategy, and hold themselves accountable to the broader success of the business, not just the delivery of technical work. This is a pivotal leadership role for an experienced engineer who brings the technical depth, judgment, and curiosity needed to guide teams doing complex, meaningful work. The ideal candidate will drive alignment between organizational goals and modern web development practices, with a strong command of cutting-edge frameworks, AI-powered tooling, and cloud-based deployment platforms. You will mentor engineers, measure and drive performance, and influence how we scale team culture, engineering practices, and product outcomes. You'll partner closely with marketing and executive leaders to lead roadmap planning and prioritization, translate the roadmap into an actionable plan, and help your team continuously improve how they build, ship, and learn. Status: Full-time Role Location: Omaha, NE - Corporate Office Responsibilities: Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and manage a team of web developers, architects, and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovation-driven work environment. Set clear performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and actively support the professional growth and development of team members. Oversee the full lifecycle of web development projects - from planning and execution through to delivery - ensuring on-time, on-budget completion. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to gather requirements, define scope, and deliver high-quality solutions. Develop and implement web development strategies that align with and advance broader business objectives. Architecture & Development Design and enforce scalable, secure, and high-performance web architectures using modern frameworks and best practices. Lead development initiatives utilizing Next.js, React, and related front-end technologies to build performant, production-grade applications. Oversee deployment pipelines and infrastructure leveraging Vercel and other cloud hosting platforms, ensuring seamless CI/CD workflows. Define and maintain technical architecture standards, coding guidelines, and quality benchmarks across the team. Ensure code quality and integrity through peer code reviews, automated testing, and structured QA processes. Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies, tools, and frameworks that improve team productivity and product quality. Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving best practices in web development. AI Tools & Innovation Champion the integration of AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, v0, and similar platforms) into team workflows to accelerate development and improve output quality. Identify and evaluate emerging AI capabilities that can enhance application features, internal tooling, or operational efficiency. Develop guidelines and best practices for responsible and effective AI tool usage across the development team. Explore and prototype AI-driven features and solutions that create measurable business value. Solutions Consulting Serve as a trusted technical advisor and solutions consultant to internal business stakeholders, translating complex business challenges into practical, scalable web-based solutions. Partner with department leaders to assess needs, define requirements, and architect solutions that align with strategic goals and operational workflows. Present technology recommendations, architecture proposals, and project roadmaps clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proactively identify opportunities where web technology and AI tools can streamline processes, reduce costs, or drive new capabilities across the organization. Maintenance & Support Oversee the ongoing maintenance, performance optimization, and security of existing web applications and infrastructure. Ensure platform stability, uptime, and reliability through proactive monitoring and incident response. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and escalation resolution as needed. Other Duties Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives. Qualifications: Required Qualifications 7+ years of professional web development experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or architecture role. Strong background in web technologies, frameworks, and languages (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, Node.js) required Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) required Hands-on experience with Vercel or comparable cloud deployment and hosting platforms. Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and web performance optimization. Experience integrating and managing AI-powered development tools in a professional environment. Demonstrated ability to act as a solutions consultant - bridging technical and business stakeholders. Excellent communication, project management, and team leadership skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred Qualifications Experience with headless CMS platforms, REST/GraphQL APIs, and third-party integrations. Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience building or integrating AI-driven features within web applications (e.g., LLM APIs, AI chatbots, automation workflows).
