Our client, a leading athletic footwear and apparel manufacturing company, is looking for a Product Development Engineer 2. This is for an initial duration of 12 months and is located at Beaverton, OR.Job Title: Product Development Engineer 2 Reference ID: 26-00925 Location: Beaverton, OR. Duration: 12 months Job Type: Contract (Candidates must be able to work on W2 without VISA sponsorship)Sr. Footwear Product Developer MUST include Portfolio Onsite Special project for a footwear developer on the performance basketball team. This is a high pressure environment that requires someone who can adapt to feedback and quick changes. They'll take athlete feedback and apply them to make product improvements. The role will focus on Footwear moments (ie: all starts games, WNBA) and create newness with popular footwear (ie: Rhythm of the game). They will primarily focus on revamping past models, not new model designs. They'll work across all models and collaborate with designers to create uniformed fresh ideas Who We Are Looking For: We are looking for a Sr. Footwear Product Developer to be an integral part of our Footwear Product Team, creating amazing footwear for athletes! The ideal candidate needs to have demonstrated project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product creation setting. We are looking for people that are self-starters, quick learners, clear communicators, team players and that exhibit strong leadership skills. As a member of our CLIENT footwear development team, you will create the future footwear and solve problems that make athletes better. What You Will Work On: As our Sr. Footwear Product Developer, you'll drive product and process excellence within a team environment for your assigned projects. Working on complex footwear projects, you will convert a project brief and a 2D design rendering into a 3D sample that meets the needs of the consumer as well as the needs of the business. You'll utilize your knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence. You'll engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are managed according to critical dates and completed on time, while meeting design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability and sustainability targets. In addition, you'll ensure that your projects are ready for the commercialization process and can ultimately be manufactured. Who You Will Work With: As a member of the Footwear Team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. This includes Footwear Engineering, Footwear Product Testing, Footwear Material Design and Material Development, Product Design, Product Management, Product Merchandising, Sourcing and Operations, and our overseas partners - both within CLIENT and external to CLIENT. You will need to navigate the CLIENT matrix to ensure that our processes model and match CLIENT Footwear Development standard methodologies for product excellence. You are the key point of contact for our overseas partners and ensure that communication during the product development process is clear and accurate. Must Haves: 3+ YOE in Technical Product Development for Footwear Taking creative ideas and implementing them into product and meeting tight deadlines Can create new product timelines as needed Nice to Haves: Liaison with manufactures and advocate for Designers Basketball experience and interest Has managed product development that had iterations. Has analyzed the failures and made future product improvement Soft Skills: Calm under pressure, adaptable, comfort with ambiguity, highly collaborative, courageous in conversations - wants to take risks with designs and can have tough convos about design feedback What You Bring: Bachelor's degree in Product Development, Engineering or related field. Will accept suitable combination of education, experience or training with footwear experience Demonstrated understanding of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, and manufacturing processes. A minimum of 2 years directly relevant work experience Effective Collaborator adept at working productively within a team. Experience building trust to collaborate with internal and external partners. Experience facilitating meetings, driving consensus, and influencing others. Ability to prioritize multiple work streams and competing priorities Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives. Proven Ability to identify & suggest cost effective solutions in footwear is preferred Experience in project management, problem-solving scenarios and applying solutions. Creative problem-solving skills. Demonstrated Self Starter that is willing to learn and grow. A demonstrated ability to tinker, to create prototypes, to explore, learn, and to find ways to improve products through physically altering their state. Ability to read technical drawings, sketches and/or 3D digital files. Basic knowledge of materials, test methods, and properties and application.
