Civil Superintendent

An established and growing heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent with a strong background in underground utilities and heavy demolition. This role involves managing field operations on complex infrastructure projects across the Bay Area, with occasional travel as needed (approximately 10-20%). Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day site operations for underground utility installation and demolition projects Manage field crews, subcontractors, and site logistics to ensure efficient project execution Ensure full compliance with safety procedures, environmental regulations, and project specifications Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to maintain project timelines and budgets Conduct regular inspections, identify and resolve field issues, and maintain quality standards Maintain accurate records including daily reports, equipment logs, and incident documentation Lead by example to promote a safety-first, team-oriented work culture Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, specifically underground utilities (storm, sewer, water) and/or demolition Proven track record of successfully leading field operations on complex projects Strong understanding of excavation, trenching, shoring, dewatering, and demolition best practices Skilled in reading blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings Effective communicator with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities OSHA certifications preferred; additional safety or supervisory training a plus Willingness to travel regionally as project demands require What's Offered: Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives Health, dental, and vision insurance
