Locum - Physician - Maternal Fetal Medicine Richmond, VA Looking to make a meaningful impact in maternal and fetal health while maintaining flexibility in your practice? Join our dynamic team as a Locum Physician specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine, providing critical support during a busy recruitment period. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with state-of-the-art facilities, helping high-risk pregnancies achieve the best outcomes. Responsibilities include: Managing high-risk pregnancies with specialized procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and cerclage (preferred). Providing expert care for pregnancies complicated by pre-eclampsia, growth restrictions, chromosomal and congenital abnormalities, pre-term labor, hypertension, thrombophilia, genetic disorders, birth defects, and other maternal or fetal co-morbidities. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, sonographers, and genetic counselors to deliver exceptional patient care. Utilizing EPIC and Viewpoint EMRs for documentation and coordination. Required Skills: Proven expertise in maternal fetal medicine with extensive experience in high-risk pregnancy management. Proficiency in procedures such as amniocentesis, CVS, and cerclage. Strong knowledge of obstetric and fetal co-morbidities, diagnostics, and management protocols. Ability to work effectively in a clinical setting with limited supervision. Excellent communication skills and patient-centered approach. Nice to Have Skills: Experience supervising or collaborating with mid-level providers or allied health staff. Additional certifications in ultrasound or fetal therapy. Previous experience working in hospital and outpatient settings. Preferred Education and Experience: MD or DO with valid medical licensure and board certification or eligibility in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Minimum of 3 years in a high-risk obstetric practice. Prior locum or temporary assignment experience is advantageous. Other Requirements: Credentialing approval estimated within 90 days. Willingness to work on specific dates, including 05/08-05/15, 05/16-05/22, and 05/26-05/31. Ability to travel and comply with facility reimbursements for travel, lodging, and related expenses. Active and unrestricted medical license in Virginia or ability to obtain licensure promptly.
