Job Title: Small Engine TechnicianJob Summary: Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines found in equipment such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, motorcycles, and generators. This role involves both troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing routine maintenance to ensure equipment runs efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in small engines. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug checks. Assemble and disassemble engines and other mechanical components. Test repaired engines and equipment to ensure proper functionality. Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used. Communicate with customers regarding repairs, maintenance needs, and costs. Stay updated on new technologies and repair techniques in small engine mechanics. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training in small engine repair is preferred. Experience working with small engines (1-3 years preferred). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment effectively. Experience with repairing mowers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, etc. Knowledge of safety practices related to small engine maintenance and repair. Good communication skills to interact with customers and team members. Valid driver's license may be required. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). Manual dexterity and physical stamina for working with tools and machinery. Capability to work in various weather conditions, especially if repairs are done outdoors.
