Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements. Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards. Other duties as assigned Assists physicians in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation, and electrophysiology studies. Evaluates and documents patient status, responds appropriately, and intervenes or refers in a timely manner to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrates clinical expertise, competence, and proficiency based on knowledge and skills, exceeding essential job responsibilities per department standards. Commits to continued learning and shares knowledge with patients and co-workers, demonstrating team player characteristics and punctuality. Participates in performance improvement activities to evaluate care outcomes driven by curiosity and a desire to know more. Accepts accountability for using evidence to monitor and improve care based on regulatory and practice standards. Effectively and safely uses equipment, time, personnel, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care. Adapts to changing workload, patient needs, technologies, policies, regulations, census, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility. Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings, providing on-call coverage outside of standard hours per department and facility policy. Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes. Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and deals with various personality types, ages, and levels of consciousness.
