About the Practice CapitalCare Pediatrics Troy is a well-established pediatric practice serving families in the Capital Region for over 40 years. Our providers deliver comprehensive, compassionate care from infancy through adolescence, emphasizing preventive medicine, developmental screening, behavioral health, and family education in a collaborative outpatient setting. Position Overview CapitalCare Pediatrics Troy is seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our clinical team on a part-time basis (24 hours/week). This provider will deliver high-quality primary pediatric care while working collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and support teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes. The ideal candidate has prior pediatric clinical experience, strong communication skills, and a patient- and family-centered approach to care. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric patients from birth through adolescence. Conduct well-child visits, sick visits, physical exams, developmental and behavioral screenings. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions in accordance with evidence-based guidelines. Deliver age-appropriate anticipatory guidance, health education, and counseling to patients and caregivers. Collaborate with families on nutrition, growth, mental health, and developmental concerns. License and active registration as a physician assistant or registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State. Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or equivalent degree in physician assistant studies and successful completion of physician assistant training program approved by the NYS Department of Education or accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or a program that is determined by the Department to be the substantial equivalent of a licensure qualifying or accredited program. Attainment of passing grade on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. At least one year of experience as a physician assistant in ambulatory health care. Current CPR certification. Nurse Practitioner: Successful completion of and graduation from a nurse practitioner education program acceptable to NYSED. Current certification as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Successful completion of pharmacology coursework acceptable to NYSED. Three years of professional nursing experience in an ambulatory setting preferred. At least one year of experience as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care. Current CPR certification.
