Accounts Payable Clerk The A/P Clerk will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely data entry of invoices throughout the organization. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the accounting team in making sure that payments are submitted in accordance with Perry's standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Verify the accuracy of invoice entries and compare system reports to invoice balances. Assist in check distributions by matching checks with invoices and mailing checks weekly. Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; Ensure that credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments as needed. Assist in monitoring invoices in AP system to ensure they are paid in a timely manner. Accurately file invoices weekly. Assist in audits by providing requested accounting related information/documents/invoices Update and maintain vendor data. Perform other job related and compatible duties as requested. Qualifications: 2-4 years' experience in a related field. Knowledge of general accounting experience a plus with an emphasis on accounts payable. Strong organizational and analytical skills required with an emphasis on attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure to meet time restraints. Must have a positive attitude and be self-motivated. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and all levels of employees at the store. Physical Requirements: Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects. Typically sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. This position is considered full-time. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with shifts ranging in the hours between 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ability to sustain prolonged use of a Computer Working Environment: This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
