Job Family STAFF - Support Staff Grade CS Salary $14.00 - $20.00 (Based on Degree Earned) Department Grant USDE Reports To Director Closing Date Open Until Filled FLSA Status Non-Exempt First Review Date February 18, 2025 Position Overview The Part-Time Online Learning Assistant works closely with faculty and staff to provide supplemental guidance inside and outside the classroom for online students. The position is responsible for motivating and assisting students, providing tutoring services and serving as a role model for student success. What you will be doing Provides academic support to students and/or additional support to faculty and staff Facilitates active learning activities in the classroom Serves as a role model and motivator for students to achieve and assists with their academic needs Consults weekly or bi-weekly on areas of concentration for the students, under the direction of faculty member Receives training in course content, pedagogy and activities Completes status reports Maintains a time and activity log of Online Learning Assistant activities Monitors student progress and needs, intervening at the director of the faculty member Guides students through the use of educational software and online tools Provides extra assistance to students with special needs Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and completion of one (1) specified college disciplined course Must be enrolled in a regionally accredited educational institution and in good academic standing Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 average Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Possess the ability to engage students in course activities and materials Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Be detail-oriented and highly organized Possess strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in Microsoft applications Ability to demonstrate genuine motivation in dealing with people Ability to effectively speak and present information in front of a group Ability to work flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
