Senior Mechanical Engineer

65% Engineering Design of mechanical and electro-mechanical components of concrete consolidation/ finishing tools and system Perform analysis and design of rotating machinery Design products and processes that comply with North American and International Safety standards. Provide engineering leadership during the product safety certification process. Specify and design components including universal electric motors, hydraulic motors, rotating eccentric elements, bearings, flexible shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, rotating eccentric elements, bearings, flexible shafts, couplings, flanges, housings, clutches, etc. Peform ergonomic analysis of product features Create 3D solid models of parts and complex assemblies Perform Finite element analysis including: heat transfer, stress and vibration analysis Produce 2D engineering drawings in accordance with ANSI standards A working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance is desirable Develop manufacturing methods (machining, injection molding, investment casting, fabricating and stamping, etc) for assemblies and components. Conduct ROI analysis to determine most effective manufacturing methods. Familiarity with international product safety certification standards is desirable 15% Testing Develop test methods and procedures for both R&D and production processes Conduct hands-on testing Provide written and verbal instruction for technicians to insure quality test results Analyze and report data in verbal and written format 20% Participation in cradle-to-grave Product Development Process Work with Marketing to develop product specifications that define design parameters Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement manufacturing tooling,processes and procedures Experience with Design for Manufacturability is desirable Provide Engineering support to resolve quality issues Prepare and present regular project status reports and design reviews Provide engineering input to instruction manuals and Sales literature Skills & Requirements Bachelor Degree in Engineering and minimum 8 years experience
