JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, maintaining and improving complex mechanical, electrical and electronic, instrumentation equipment and distribution systems, involving work of varied nature with minimum supervision. Additionally, the IMT will perform checks and maintain records to ensure compliance with Environmental regulations. SCHEDULE: The team is looking for an individual open to working various shifts, based on need/skillset. This position may require overtime, holiday, and on-call schedule. RESPONSIBILITIES Troubleshoot machine problems and make repairs or changes as necessary to electro-mechanical instrumentation and process control systems. If repairs are temporary, ensure permanent repairs are made as soon as possible. Perform preventive maintenance testing and maintain records to ensure compliance with all company and environmental regulations. Evaluate recommend and/or implement changes to improve machine health as needed. Update prints and procedures as needed. Maintain appropriate documentation. Evaluate parts requirements for new or existing equipment and make recommendations to set parts up in stock. Research locates and order appropriate parts to ensure reliability. Assist with modifications and capital projects as required. Communicate with vendors support groups and management about equipment issues. Document machine issues repairs made troubleshooting procedures parts used follow up needed etc. Perform all job tasks and assignments safely. Conduct regular safety inspections of assigned areas for identification of potential safety problems. Perform prescribed audit and sampling activities to monitor system operations for compliance assurance. QUALIFICATIONS AAS degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or related field preferred. AAS degree in Electro/Mechanical Engineering Technology (Robotics) or related field. 3 - 5 years' experience in an Industrial Maintenance Electrician job. Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Ability to use multimeters, voltage testers, amp meters, and other testing devices. Ability to install and maintain motors, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers, rectifiers, etc. Ability to calculate needed material (wire, breakers, conduit, etc.) for new or modifications of existing circuits. Ability to assemble, install, alter, and repair any pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, chemicals, or gases. Pneumatics included. Ability to use hand power tools applicable to job function. (Welding skills are a plus.) Knowledge of electronics and electrical controls and circuits. Knowledge of AC and DC drives, PLC's, power distribution and process control. Willingness and ability to perform OJT duties. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time. Ability to effectively communicate with operations associates, vendors, and support groups. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Ability to work up to 11.5-hour shifts Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 lbs Frequent lifting in the 0-50 lb range Carry items (e.g., shafts ~45 lbs) up to 10 feet Push/pull equipment (e.g., toolboxes up to ~300 lbs) up to 200 feet Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting/crouching, reaching, twisting Occasional crawling Ability to climb platforms and access coolant pits Frequent use of both hands for simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive motions Use of foot controls as required Ability to maintain sustained attention, work at a consistent pace, and make independent judgments. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
