Director of IT & Enterprise Systems

About the Opportunity EXO Talent Partners is representing a growing aerospace manufacturing organization on Long Island seeking a Director of IT & Enterprise Systems. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the CFO. The organization is scaling, and IT must evolve into a structured, secure, and process-driven function capable of supporting long-term growth and compliance. This is not a purely executive oversight position. This is a true player-coach role. If infrastructure needs attention, you step in. If compliance documentation needs refinement, you own it. If systems need modernization, you lead it. You will build the foundation while leading the team. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a lean IT team (currently IT Manager + Level I Technician) Drive CMMC compliance through completion. Strengthen cybersecurity posture aligned to NIST 800-171 and related frameworks Oversee infrastructure, enterprise systems, ERP environment, and network security Establish scalable IT processes, documentation, governance, and risk controls Serve as a strategic IT advisor to executive leadership Build a long-term IT roadmap aligned with manufacturing growth Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience Experience within aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred Direct exposure to CMMC, NIST 800-171, DFARS, or comparable security frameworks Hands-on infrastructure leadership experience ERP / enterprise systems oversight in a manufacturing setting Demonstrated ability to scale IT functions in growth environments Stable tenure with demonstrated long-term commitment What This Role Is Not Not a remote position Not a pure strategy or governance-only role Not a large enterprise CIO oversight function This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role within a growing manufacturing business.
