Position Overview Are you ready to launch your career in the construction industry with Helm? As an Accounting and Administrative Assistant, you will manage our front desk operations and provide accounting support for our Civil operations at our corporate headquarters. This role is the first point of contact for visitors while also assisting with financial processes and data entry. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position is in our corporate office and will primarily support our civil division which is responsible for the Concrete, Asphalt Paving and Structural scopes of work on construction projects such as highways, bridges and culverts. This role is located in our Freeport, IL office. Key Responsibilities Assist with processing accounts payable vendor invoices into our accounting software. Assist with payroll hours data entry and review. Prepare and process bank deposits on a daily basis. Take accounts payable inquiry calls from our vendors. Review and reconcile monthly statements from vendors. Answer and transfer phone calls promptly and professionally. Manage the front desk, greeting and visitor check-in. Escort visitors to appropriate areas within the facility. Sort and distribute mail. Handle UPS, FedEx shipping requests. Restock office supplies. Assist with coordinating lunches and company events. Scan and file records to comply with document retention requirements. Notarize company documents as needed. A knowledge of Microsoft office products, primarily Excel, Word and Outlook Good organizational skills, and time management skills Good people skills and able to interact with a variety of personalities of vendors, customers and employees. Requirements Associates or higher degree in accounting or a related field, OR At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role. Salary & Benefits Range: $40,000 - $45,000 Final determination of a successful candidate's pay is based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
