Position Start Date 1/19/2026 Salary/Wage $21.00 per hour Terms/Schedule 2026-2027 School Year Appointment Type Part Time Description 7:15-8:00 am and 2:25-3:10 pm on school days $21.00 per hour Location: Middleton Cross Plains School District Training will be provided prior to the first day through the Middleton Police Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: --Directs actions of children and traffic at designated street intersections to insure safe crossing. -- Records license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and reports them to police officers. -- Escorts children across the street. -- Keeps order to prevent disturbances at street intersections. -- Reports irregularities and hazards to appropriate personnel. -- Stops speeding vehicles and warns drivers. -- Answers questions and gives direction on request. REQUIREMENTS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be capable on a continuous basis of: standing/walking, reaching, grasping, handling, gripping and utilizing repetitive movements of both hands, lifting (up to 10 pounds from floor to over head) Must be capable on a frequent basis of: bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, kneeling, pushing (up to 10 pounds force from floor to waist level and over head while lying down), pulling (up to 10 pounds from floor to waist level and over head while lying down), lifting (11 to 20 pounds from floor to waist) Must be capable on a occasional basis of: climbing, crawling, lifting. Must also be capable of: talking, seeing with both near and far visual acuity, depth perception and field of vision; hearing and feeling. Other necessary worker characteristics include: making judgements, attaining tolerances and performing a variety of duties. Qualifications 1. Some experience in directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic and completion of a standard high school course, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 2. Some knowledge of the geography of the city. 3. Ability to maintain discipline. 4. Ability to recognize traffic hazards. 5. Ability to utilize good judgement and maintain a good working relationship with staff, students and public. 6.
