We are driven by our core values of agility, expertise, and trust. This position will report to our Tysons, VA headquarters as well as travel frequently to construction job sites. ResponsibilitiesThis position will be located on a construction job siteAct as a liaison between employees and managementInvestigate complaints, provide counseling and work toward conflict resolution while keeping supervisors apprisedRecommend corrective actions and support supervisors with discipline and the separation processPeriodically walk around the project sites and interact with employees to answer questions, address concerns and assess the work environmentIdentify issues that need to be escalated to corporate HRStay abreast of labor laws and advise supervisors on their applicationClarify company policies and proceduresCoach supervisors on compliance with HR-related policies and proceduresFacilitate the annual performance review process in conjunction with corporate HRParticipate in face-to-face evaluations, when practicalArrange training for employees and supervisors as neededBe familiar and facilitate new hire orientationListen and respond to inquiries from employeesEducate employees on benefits throughout the year and during open enrollmentEnsure labor law posters and other company-required posters are up-to-date and in clear viewConduct exit interviews and determine root causes for voluntary terminationsSuggest and implement retention strategiesRecommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvements to the employee experience Additional Job Requirements:Independently assess situations, exercise good judgment and solve problemsUnderstand and respect sensitive nature of confidential informationPossess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and strong organizational skillsExercise attention to detailBe responsive, self-motivated, a team player and task-orientedMotivate and persuade othersPossess energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for engaging employeesThrive in a fast-paced work environment Qualifications2 years' relevant experience in employee relations or related field, preferably in the construction or engineering industryBachelor's degree in a relevant fieldFluency in English and Spanish requiredThis position will require 75% travel We offer an excellent benefits package including:A competitive salaryMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursement401k Retirement PlanMilitary Reserve pay offsetPaid maternity leave Abilities:Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.Reaching by extending hands or arms in any direction.Possessing finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.Listening to and understanding information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesEffectively communicating information and ideas by speaking so others will understandReading and comprehending information and ideas presented in writingApplying general rules to specific problems to come up with answers that make senseUnderstanding the speech of another personProficiency at using personal computer, tablet and smart phone and various applications, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and OutlookFluency in English and Spanish is requiredbfb3568a-762b-4989-884b-a9682aa104ca
