Here's a breakdown of its key aspects: Core Components of SAM License Compliance Ensures that the organization adheres to software licensing agreements and avoids penalties for non-compliance. Inventory Management Tracks all software assets across the organization, including versions, installations, and usage statistics. Usage Optimization Identifies underutilized licenses or redundant applications to optimize costs and allocate resources efficiently. Procurement and Renewal Management Manages the procurement of software licenses and tracks renewal dates to avoid lapses. Risk Mitigation Reduces security risks and vulnerabilities by identifying unauthorized software or outdated versions. Integration with ITSM Tools Often integrated with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms like ServiceNow for automation and centralized management.
