Role: Software Asset Management (SAM) Location: Stamford CT Initial remote is fine/ Onsite position Duration: 12 months JD: Minimum 10 plus of experience in IT Software Asset Management (SAM) is a set of business practices that aims to manage and optimize the use of software within an organization. It involves processes, policies, and tools to ensure compliance with licensing agreements, minimize risks, and maximize value from software investments. Here's a breakdown of its key aspects: Core Components of SAM License Compliance Ensures that the organization adheres to software licensing agreements and avoids penalties for non-compliance. Inventory Management Tracks all software assets across the organization, including versions, installations, and usage statistics. Usage Optimization Identifies underutilized licenses or redundant applications to optimize costs and allocate resources efficiently. Procurement and Renewal Management Manages the procurement of software licenses and tracks renewal dates to avoid lapses. Risk Mitigation Reduces security risks and vulnerabilities by identifying unauthorized software or outdated versions. Integration with ITSM Tools Often integrated with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms like ServiceNow for automation and centralized management.
