Clinical Support SpecialistLocation: Harvey, Illinois Compensation: $55,000 - $60,000 (Salary) Work Arrangement: Hybrid Hybrid Work Structure This position includes an intensive 90 day in-office training period. Following successful completion of training, eligibility for a hybrid schedule ( 3 days (WFH) and 2 days ( in office) will be considered based on performance and achievement of established goals. Position Summary The Clinical Support Specialist (CSS) plays an integral role in the Clinical Staffing Process, working in close collaboration with the Clinical Coordinator and interdisciplinary Clinical Team. This position facilitates engagement with youth, biological families, caregivers, and identified support members to ensure meaningful participation in staffing decisions. The CSS promotes safety, empowerment, and best practice standards while supporting action plan development, referral tracking, and quality decision-making throughout the staffing process. Key Responsibilities Facilitate the Clinical Staffing Process in partnership with the Clinical Coordinator, ensuring clear communication and active engagement among all participants. Engage youth, families, caregivers, and support members in a manner that promotes empowerment and collaboration. Foster a safe and respectful environment that encourages open dialogue and addresses concerns effectively. Provide psychoeducation to youth, families, and caregivers regarding the staffing process and related services. Support collaborative decision-making that prioritizes child safety and the least restrictive, most appropriate service interventions. Coordinate communication between the Clinical Management Team (CMT), Placement Team, and Providers to support pre-placement interviews and referral tracking. Summarize and clarify discussions to assist the group in reaching consensus and developing actionable safety plans. Ensure compliance with DCFS policies, applicable laws, and agency best practices. Maintain accurate documentation of decisions and action plans developed during staffing meetings. Contribute to quality assurance initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance process effectiveness. Qualifications To perform this role successfully, candidates must demonstrate the ability to carry out essential duties effectively. Strong facilitation skills with the ability to manage group dynamics and conflict resolution. Working knowledge of child welfare laws, DCFS policies, and clinical staffing best practices. Ability to maintain confidentiality and make sound decisions centered on child safety and family empowerment. Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and Joint Commission safety practices is preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and computer proficiency skills. Education & ExperienceRequired: Master's Degree in a Human Services-related field Preferred: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience Additional Information This is a hybrid position requiring regular in-office presence. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the Harvey/Park Forest office.
