Maintenance Supervisor We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor with a strong technical background in process and equipment management, preferably within the food industry. The successful candidate will possess at least four years of supervisory experience and a proven ability to lead teams, enhance equipment reliability, and drive operational excellence in a unionized setting. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of safety, quality, and line efficiency during assigned shifts. Facilitate and lead the daily meeting system for the maintenance department. Develop and implement execution plans through the maintenance and repair cell, focusing on skill-building and training. Conduct recruitment and interview processes for mechanics. Manage and maintain positive union relationships, ensuring professional conflict resolution. Enhance team capabilities by providing necessary tools, skills, and growth opportunities. Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP) in tooling and workshop management. Oversee talent management for preventive maintenance (PM) technicians. Preventive Maintenance: Lead initiatives to improve mean time to repair (MTTR) and implement countermeasures during unplanned stops to minimize downtime. Gain comprehensive understanding of operations and processes to make informed decisions. Manage preventive maintenance (PM) execution within the shift, including planned and unplanned maintenance programs. Provide timely feedback to update PM plans in systems, applications, and products (SAP). Prioritize and address safety and quality-related PM tasks within the shift. Lead small group activities targeting critical line equipment, utilizing subject matter experts to identify training needs. Support breakdown analysis and implement actions to enhance line performance. Ensure timely start-up and prioritize line readiness based on production needs. Qualifications: Experience working with union employees is required. Willingness to work a 12-hour shift schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, with both day and night shifts available. Proficient in optimizing cost-effective maintenance and reliability (M&R) practices, supporting lean manufacturing and business objectives. Ability to evaluate and refine equipment reliability plans, strategies, and root cause analysis effectiveness. A thorough understanding of safety regulations and the capability to ensure compliance among team members. A minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience in engineering, maintenance, or production within a manufacturing environment is required. Education / Certifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred, or 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates without a degree but with a background in the food industry will also be considered. Schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, 12-hour shifts. Typical hours are from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. This position offers a unique opportunity for growth within a globally recognized organization.
