Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical office serving the Midwest. This full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education within a pediatric clinic setting. General Summary The LPN assists with patient care by performing vital sign collection, medication administration (oral, IM, SC), specimen collection, and point-of-care testing. You will also support providers during examinations and procedures, maintain sterile fields, and manage instrument trays. Strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to clinic policies on patient safety, infection prevention, and safe patient handling. Administer medications as ordered and assist with clinical procedures. Perform phone triage and act as a liaison between patients and providers, including communicating test results and answering questions. Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences. Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain accurate height, weight, and vital signs. Update medication and patient summary lists as needed. Educate patients and guardians on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching. Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary precertifications and authorizations. Train other LPNs and medical assistants in clinic roles. Maintain accountability, work independently, and demonstrate teamwork and reliability. Education Graduate of an accredited LPN program and completion of an approved IV therapy course. Experience Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Certification/License Current LPN license valid in the state of practice and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification are required. Mental/Physical Requirements This role requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, lifting up to 35 lbs, and various physical activities such as standing, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals, may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
