About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented team member to support product quality and testing initiatives within a warehouse environment. This role partners closely with the Sourcing Manager to evaluate furniture samples, conduct product comparisons, assemble and test items, and maintain organization of product materials and swatches. This is a part-time opportunity, approximately 2025 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility. Key Responsibilities Support the Furniture Sourcing Manager in evaluating furniture samples by comparing warehouse inventory samples to factory samples during transition projects, identifying variances in dimensions, materials, construction, finish, and overall functionality. Pull, stage, and assess furniture samples from warehouse inventory for quality review related to transition projects, customer complaints, sales team requests, quality concerns, color and finish evaluations, Andon cord investigations, and other ad hoc initiatives. Partner with the Sourcing Manager to assist with product testing, documenting results, and identifying potential quality or performance issues. Coordinate with the Inventory Team and warehouse teams to support product and packaging rework initiatives, ensuring alignment on execution and timelines. Assemble furniture according to manufacturer assembly instructions, identifying errors, inconsistencies, or improvement opportunities; provide detailed feedback and assist with updates to Assembly Instructions (AI) to enhance product quality and customer experience. Document findings clearly and communicate observations, issues, and recommendations to the Furniture Sourcing Manager in a timely and organized manner. Assist with organizing, labeling, and cataloging fabric swatches, wood samples, and assembled furniture to maintain a well-organized and accessible product library. Coordinate with the Sourcing Team regarding budget needs for tools, supplies, or materials required to support testing, assembly, or quality initiatives. Support one-off and special projects, including preparing products for trade shows, conferences, corporate employee events, and other initiatives that support company objectives and the sales team. Qualifications and Skills Forklift and pallet jack certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification Must possess strong attention to detail with the ability to identify variances in materials, construction, and finish Willingness and ability to learn and navigate Manhattan WMS (Warehouse Management System) Basic mechanical aptitude for product assembly and testing Ability to document findings clearly and communicate cross-functionally Essential Physical Functions of the Role Include Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling furniture boxes and product materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 100 pounds with team assistance Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and assembling furniture components Use of basic hand tools for assembly and testing purposes Operating warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (certification required or willingness to obtain) Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small items.
