This is a grant-funded full-time position ending in April 2029. This position is responsible for: Providing strength-based case management for the families in Family Emergency Shelter (FES) as they progress to permanent, stable housing. The Housing Navigation Specialist's primary focus will be on securing housing, supporting families in their housing needs to prevent recidivism, resolving barriers to stability quickly, and connecting them with local community resources. Provide monitoring, reporting, and technical support services to clients in the program. Conduct assessments with FES families to determine suitability for housing. Oversee and teach classes in the Life Skills curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Present cases to the team, confer with team members to provide and/or receive information needed to reach consensual decisions regarding the disposition of cases Make appropriate referrals for families to community resources, including but not limited to supported housing programs, mental health care, family services, employment services, etc. Follow up with each family for 3-6 months after they exit the shelter and move into housing to ensure housing stability and assess their needs for additional support Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
