Job Title: Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Architect Location: Mclean, VA Duration: FulltimeSkills: Salesforce(SFDC)Job Description :Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Architect with strong Data Cloud (formerly Customer Data Platform / CDP) expertise to design, implement, and optimize advanced marketing automation and customer data solutions. You will be responsible for defining architectural standards, integrating Salesforce with enterprise systems, and enabling 1:1 personalization at scale through unified customer data. Deep knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud: Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, Mobile Studio, and Personalization (Interaction Studio). Hands-on expertise in Salesforce Data Cloud: data streams, data model objects (DMOs), identity resolution, data actions, calculated insights, and data activations. Strong understanding of APIs, REST/SOAP integrations, and data synchronization with external systems. Experience with SQL, AMPscript, SSJS, and data management tools. Familiarity with MuleSoft, Salesforce Flow, Snowflake, or AWS/GCP data services is a plus. Proven ability to design cross-cloud architectures (Marketing, Sales, Service, Commerce, and Data Cloud). Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred). Experience: 6+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related Salesforce ecosystem products. Certifications: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant / Developer / Architect certification(s) Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant certification (preferred or required) Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect (a plus) Roles & Responsibilities Solution Architecture & Design Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, Mobile Studio, and Personalization (Interaction Studio). Architect and integrate Salesforce Data Cloud with SFMC and other Salesforce Clouds (Sales, Service, Commerce, Experience). Develop scalable data models, segmentation strategies, and identity resolution frameworks in Data Cloud. Design robust integration patterns using APIs, ETL, and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica, etc.). Data Strategy & Governance Define and enforce best practices for data ingestion, harmonization, and activation across Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. Establish data quality, privacy, and compliance controls aligned with GDPR, CCPA, and CAN-SPAM. Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure consistency in customer data pipelines and schemas. Implementation & Optimization Lead technical implementation and configuration efforts for campaigns, automations, and real-time personalization use cases. Optimize audience segmentation, journey orchestration, and channel performance using AI and analytics tools. Troubleshoot complex issues in SFMC, Data Cloud, and connected systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with marketing, IT, product, and analytics teams to align technical solutions with business goals. Provide thought leadership and technical guidance to developers, administrators, and business stakeholders. Mentor junior technical staff and drive knowledge-sharing initiatives.
