The quality inspector is responsible for making sure parts are inspected 100% to meet customer needs. What You'll Do: Interpret casting blueprints and GD&T callouts. Assist with 1st article verification on CMM/layout table. Recommend changes to the machining process as required. Inspect machined castings using measuring instruments (e.g. height gauge, calipers, micrometer, gages etc.) Perform 100% inspection on castings with prior customer issues. Complete machining process audit daily. Report findings to Quality/Machine Shop Supervisor. Investigate suspect castings and create scrap report on MS Excel. Perform job functions to facilitate compliance with IATF 16949 (ISO/TS). Maintain a professional and clean working area (5S) Adhere to company's safety practices and wear appropriate PPE. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Other duties as assigned by supervision. Experience in quality control and CNC machining process. Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to pass pre-employment, physical, drug screen, and background check. Must be able to pass medical clearance: asthma, COPD, breathing conditions, respiratory conditions, high blood pressure are potential causes of failing a medical clearance. Basic knowledge on blueprint reading and ductile iron casting Experience with CMM and manual measuring instruments (preferred). Basic computer skills. Good math and analytical skills. Bilingual English and Spanish. Training Skills: Associate will take place in training program for specific position. Associate will learn to program CMM on PC-DMIS software. Associate will learn to the use of manual measuring instruments, learn to analyze casting defects, interpret GD&T callouts, gage R&R study, and basic requirements in IATF 16949 standard.
