Team Impact As the Supervisor of Nursing Administration, you will provide leadership, direction, and consultation/guidance to professional and ancillary services staff. Your work will serve as a catalyst to facilitating professional practice and excellence in patient outcomes. You will assume administrative responsibility for the hospital in the absence of other administrative personnel and serve as an active participant and contributor to strategic planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of Patient Services. How You Will Fulfill Your PotentialResponsibilities:Management, leadership, and development of staff:Promote professional staff development, intervene utilizing appropriate and available resources, and remain accountable for assuring staff is mentored to support positive patient outcomes Initiate activities to develop staff within a professional practice model by coordinating resources to foster mentoring, coaching, formal and informal teaching. Support the shared governance model and Professional Advancement Program Demonstrate excellent communication and collaboration with physicians Facilitate staff in developing skills in collaboration with physicians and others Maintain direct responsibility for supervision and mentoring of all Patient Services staff and, administrative responsibility for all other hospital personnel on duty during assigned shift Serve as the contacts Administrator On Call/Department Directors as needed during shift Program Support:Develop an active collaborative relationship with Directors and Clinical Nurse Specialists to support development of program goals. Ensure effective implementation of plan working with staff and the multidisciplinary team Initiate, direct, and facilitates the delivery of high quality and cost-effective care Provide leadership and intervention in response to dynamic feedback forms stakeholders Remain accountable for effective decision-making regarding staff and resource allocation that is supportive of patient needs and program budgets. Participate in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives while Identifying program/systems problems and taking initiative to seek resolution/communicates changes. Communicate and supports departmental and organizational mission, vision, and goals and the Journey to Greatness Provide direction to and function as Staffing/Bed Control using real-time data for patient placement and staffing decisions that focus on patient needs and organizational goals Support staff and intervene directly as needed Participate in and demonstrate leadership skills in department and hospital committees/activities Utilize computer information system according to established standard for position Administrative responsibility for hospital in absence of others:Collaborate with Department Heads throughout organization to support their department's effective functioning on all shifts Collaborate with Administrator on Call to effectively meet immediate needs on each shift Serve as facility Incident Commander during disasters until relieved by a member of senior management Personal/Professional Growth:Participate in professional meetings and educational conferences to maintain and enhance professional competence Incorporate knowledge about current issues in Nursing and Health Care into the professional practice environment. Assume responsibility for engaging in the process of self-evaluation and mutual evaluation with the Senior Director of Operations/Patient Services Qualifications/ExperienceEducation/ExperienceMaster's degree in nursing, health sciences, or management discipline required 2 years recent clinical experience required 2 years of nursing management/leadership experience strongly preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must maintain current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population in areas as assigned Knowledge and application of research principles Knowledge and ability to apply management principles Expert interpersonal skills required Basic computer literacy skills required Ability to define and solve problems and deal with complex variables in situations where limited standardization exists Ability to analyze and interpret complex administrative and clinical information Ability to communicate effectively on the most sensitive or complex topics Ability to prioritize activities and modify approach based on a highly variable environment Ability to resolve conflict, work with diverse educational, cultural, spiritual socioeconomic backgrounds Ability to apply mathematical concepts Licenses/Certificates/Registrations: Current Registered Nursing license in the state of New York required Certification in specialty and/or Nursing Administration preferred Communities We Serve Located in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George. Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $48.69 to $72.00 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
