Summary Whole Person Benefit Packages | Relocation Assistance |Research Faculty Incentive Plans Join our Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, where you will collaborate with leading faculty in cancer prevention and treatment research, along with department and shared resource professionals. Our team of faculty and staff works across clinical, translational, and population studies by leveraging cutting-edge tools in applied statistics, clinical trials design, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, spatial biology, biomarker discovery, and precision medicine. As the largest academic department at Moffitt, we offer a dynamic, collaborative environment alongside experts in the Departments of Machine Learning, Integrated Mathematical Oncology, and Bioengineering in the Division of Physical and Quantitative Sciences. With strong institutional investments in high-performance computing, the Moffitt Cancer Analytics Platform (MCAP), and Moffitt's exceptional Total Cancer Care Protocol, you will have the resources and support to drive innovative, data-driven science that truly makes a difference. All faculty are members of the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Shared Resource, which is funded by Moffitt's Comprehensive Cancer Center Grant. There are 20 staff members who work in concert with our faculty to support statistical analysis of collaborative research, as well as support methodological research and tool development. The Ideal Candidate, in one of two areas: Area 1: The candidate has expertise in behavioral research and can contribute to the many current cancer prevention and post-treatment quality of life studies, as evidenced by a history of peer-reviewed publications and involvement in grant supported research projects. Ongoing research includes interventions focusing on smoking cessation, improving participation in cancer screening and cancer-related vaccination, reducing health disparities, improving post-treatment quality of life, and reducing caregiver stress. Area 2: The candidate has expertise in therapeutic clinical trials and can contribute to the large number of current Phase I and II clinical trials. Additionally, the candidate will have strong expertise in target trial emulation/causal inference for observational studies, especially for large electronic medical record databases. Responsibilities: Collaborate with primary investigators by providing expert support on research design, data collection and processing, statistical analysis, and communication of results. Lead publications and the development of tools and methods that advance the research of primary investigators. Communicate clearly and openly. Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment. Credentials and Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or another field with significant training in methods and statistics applicable to cancer research (e.g., clinical trials, behavior intervention randomized controlled trials) along with relevant postdoctoral research experience. An academic rank beyond Assistant Member will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is tenure-earning. Salary and benefits are highly competitive.
