Hiring for Buyer / Planner (Hybrid Production Environment) in St Paul, Minnesota, Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to manage purchasing and production planning activities in a hybrid work environment. This role is responsible for procuring raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods in alignment with approved purchase orders while ensuring optimal cost, quality, reliability, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will work independently with minimal supervision and play a key role in supporting global inventory levels and direct customer demand. Key Responsibilities Purchase raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods in accordance with approved purchase orders Ensure procurement at the lowest total cost while maintaining quality, supplier reliability, and urgency requirements Conduct vendor negotiations and supplier performance analysis Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities Manage vendor relationships and resolve supply-related issues Expedite orders to meet production and customer deadlines Utilize purchasing systems to process and track procurement activities Support inventory management and ensure appropriate global stocking levels Allocate finished goods to support both global distribution and direct customer orders Collaborate cross-functionally with production, planning, and supply chain teams Required Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of purchasing experience Experience in Buyer/Planner or production planning roles Strong understanding of procurement processes and inventory management Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Qualifications Production planning experience (nice to have) Bachelors degree preferred Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered Bachelors degree required if converted to permanent employment
