Material Handler

Material Handler As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating rear-wheel steering forklifts and yard tractors to safely and efficiently transport materials within the facility. You will load and unload shipments, transport materials between departments, and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment. Adherence to safety guidelines and maintaining a clean work area are essential. Responsibilities Operate rear-wheel steering forklifts and yard tractors safely and efficiently. Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring proper handling and storage. Transport raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods between departments. Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts. Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while operating equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear and accessible aisles. Collaborate with production supervisors, warehouse personnel, and team members to coordinate material movements. Communicate updates on material availability and keep production lines stocked with raw materials. Essential Skills Proven experience as a Forklift Driver in a food manufacturing or similar setting. Valid forklift operator certification and a clean driving record. Skillful in operating rear-wheel steering forklifts in tight spaces. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Strong mathematical skills for inventory counts and handling expiration dates. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with yard tractors and their operation is a plus. 2-3 years of warehouse and forklift experience preferred. Being bilingual is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a GMP regulated, very clean, 135,000 Sq. Feet facility in Hopkins. The environment is temperature controlled and well-maintained. Available shifts include: 1st Shift (5am - 1:30pm Monday-Friday), 2nd Shift (1pm - 9:30pm Monday-Friday), and 3rd Shift (9pm - 5:30am Sunday-Thursday). Shift differentials are guaranteed at time of conversion. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
