Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist Southern Careers Institute (SCI) is seeking a knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company's payroll. This position offers a competitive base salary plus incentive compensation. Responsibilities include: Compile payroll data such as hours worked, sales or piecework, taxes, and insurance to be withheld, and employee identification number, from time sheets and other records; Prepare computer input forms, enter data into computer files, or compute wages and deductions and post to payroll records; Review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll; Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records; Prepare and issue paychecks; Review and approve payroll deductions; Interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures; Coordinate employee benefits enrollment and deductions with HR benefits coordinator; Ensure ongoing coordination with HR to properly capture correct pay for New Hires and Terminations. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a related field or 2-3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Strong knowledge Payroll, HR, Benefits management systems Ceridian / Dayforce preferred. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; specifically Excel and its advanced functions; Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; Strong verbal communication, written communication, listening, record keeping and information management.
