Job Description

HR Benefits Analyst - Medical and Pharmacy Plans This position works with team members to support benefit management, analysis, administration, communication, compliance, benefit program coordination and project management for system-wide offered medical and pharmacy programs with annual cost of about $1 billion for 130,000 employees across the country. Works as a liaison with insurance carriers, third party administrators (TPAs), consultants, national groups, regions, People Connections (HR Technology), HR leaders and employees. Helps to develop benefits communication materials including preparation and presentations to CommonSpirit Health employees and regional HR leaders and benefit staff. Create materials for the Contact Center on notification of system issues/carrier notifications that may rise. Essential key job responsibilities include: supporting project coordination such as implementation of new benefits programs, Annual Benefits Enrollment, streamlining existing medical and pharmacy programs, including cost/savings of proposed programs; acting as a liaison to Regions, People Connections (HR Technology), carriers, TPAs to resolve benefit plan elevated issues and provides clarification of benefit plan regulations and provisions; working with carriers, TPAs and Manager to develop, maintain and provide periodic benefit plans reports for market divisions and the CommonSpirit Health management team; working with Sr. HR Benefits Analyst/Manager to develop, review and edit benefits education/communication materials for regions and employees; writing and editing benefit plan documents and compliance materials as needed; supporting acquisitions and divestitures by serving as a benefits subject matter expert for implementation efforts and providing employee impact analysis to all parties as needed; supporting annual benefit enrollment implementation process, testing/UAT, communications/reviews and sign-off; assessing and monitoring effectiveness of current, new or proposed programs/initiatives and reports financial and employee impact; conducting analysis of benefits programs for cost management and Medical plan design decision-making; developing measurements and reviewing plans' utilization and performance against benchmarks. Required education and experience includes a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent education and experience. Required licensure and certifications CEBS preferred, but not required. Required minimum knowledge, skills, abilities and training include minimum of three years of experience in benefits administration. Must possess detailed benefit knowledge including coverage provisions, legal requirements, and implementation and enrollment process. Must have a broad perspective on industry plans, trends, vendors, administrators, and financing arrangements. Must have strong knowledge of vendor fee arrangements.
